Every year our school evolves towards a stronger college preparation culture. This was very evident last week during our state PSAE exams. Our junior class took this milestone in their high school education seriously and they demonstrated their determination by having 100% attendance on both days and doing their very best on the ACT and Work-Keys exams. We are proud of our junior class for their intense focus on their academic futures throughout this three-year journey. This week they undertake their next challenge towards becoming a M.A.S. Senior in Good Standing. I have no doubt that they will pursue this next goal with the same determination and commitment that they brought to the PSAE. Congratulations to our juniors for raising the standard of academic excellence for future generations of M.A.S. scholars! –Patricia Gonzalez

SUMMER JOBS
Mayor Emanuel announced a new program to provide students with summer job opportunities. An informational letter was sent home with students and the job application can be accessed through this link www.onesummerchicago.org . M.A.S. supports this city initiative because it offers our students opportunities to further practice the values we promote at our school in a workplace setting: Responsibility, attendance and hard work. Please contact our counselors Ms. Maria Lopez-Cardona (773) 535-4244 or Mr. Daniel Ortiz (773) 535-4245, if you have questions or need further support in helping your child apply for a summer job opportunity.
